About

Built by someone who's been on both sides of the table.

About Xomer. We build and run websites that make local businesses easier to find, verify, and evaluate across Google and AI search.

TL;DR: Ian Ho is the founder, a former eBay technical architect and CMO. Xomer's founding offer is a $499 build followed by required $150/month managed service. Standard-scope sites target launch-ready delivery within seven days after a complete brief.

Decades in technology. A career pivot into marketing. Years running a marketing agency. The question that started Xomer: why does a good website cost so much and take so long?

Why Xomer exists

An agency owner's honest answer to an uncomfortable question.

My name is Ian Ho. I left eBay as a technical architect to cross into marketing, a move nobody around me understood at the time. Over the next several years I worked as CMO and Fractional CMO across a range of companies, then ran my own marketing agency serving local businesses.

The agency did good work and clients got results, but its bespoke process was slow, expensive, and required a team. That scope did not fit every electrician, dog groomer, or plumber seeking a standard local-business site.

Lower-cost alternatives often focused on appearance without a clear plan for search, measurement, or the information customers use to decide. Xomer was designed to make that operating scope explicit.

The uncomfortable question: does it have to be this way? After years of iteration, the answer was no. Xomer uses a bounded build process and modern tooling to lower the initial cost, then operates and improves the site through a required monthly relationship. That is Xomer.

My principle

"If your phone isn't ringing, start by measuring where the customer journey is breaking."

The background

Technical implementation and marketing judgment belong in the same build.

Xomer combines technical implementation with marketing experience. Technical quality can affect eligibility, usability, and measurement; marketing judgment can affect how clearly the offer is understood. Neither determines ranking or conversion on its own.

Technical

Built to work, not just to look good.

As a technical architect at eBay, I built systems that had to perform at a scale most businesses never approach. That background informs how every Xomer site is structured: fast load times, clean markup, appropriate schema, and mobile-first foundations. These are controllable inputs to visibility, not a guarantee of ranking.

  • Computer Science degree, Monash University
  • Built SafePrompt (production AI security SaaS with live paying customers)
Marketing

Designed for customers, not for awards.

After eBay, I spent years as a CMO and Fractional CMO, responsible for what marketing actually produces, not just what it looks like. Every Xomer site is built around the same question I ask: does this generate a lead? The copy, the structure, the SEO and AI search visibility strategy are all oriented toward one outcome.

  • CMO and Fractional CMO, multiple companies
  • Marketing agency founder
  • Clients named across AI search engines on brand queries
What this means for your business

You get a website built by someone who has done both jobs.

Technically correct from day one.

Applicable schema, site speed, clean markup, and mobile performance are built in and validated from launch. These inputs support usability and eligibility without guaranteeing rank.

Structured around qualified-lead measurement.

Copy written to help a visitor decide. Clear business facts and local SEO structure give search and AI systems better information to evaluate. Xomer measures the results instead of promising an outcome.

Maintained by a team that builds systems.

Update requests handled without email chains. Monthly clients track rankings and lead volume. Built to run consistently, not dependent on chasing an agency for a status update.

The AI angle

AI search visibility is a channel worth measuring, not a promised outcome.

When a customer asks an assistant for a local provider, the answer may name businesses, cite sources, show a map, or provide no useful local result. Record what appears and whether the facts are accurate before deciding what to improve.

Some clients have appeared in specific measured AI answers and Google results. Those outcomes are tied to the query, engine, location, and measurement date. They are not typical or guaranteed. Xomer tracks the same defined questions over time so changes are visible.
